Our Story

I grew up traveling to antique shops all over Ohio and Indiana with my parents and grandparents. I used to dread it because I wasn’t allowed to touch anything, I could only look. It was painfully boring to a young child. Despite this, I have come to love old timey, vintage things that bring a sense of warmth, familiarity, and character.

For a brief time, my parents owned a small wallpaper and furniture refinishing business. My family lived in the apartment above the shop. I spent many of my days in the store with my mom as she helped customers. I remember flipping through each and every wallpaper book looking at the patterns, colors, and textures. I remember the smells of the wallpaper and the large vats that were filled with chemicals to remove paint and stain from furniture. I remember the smells of the old building itself with its creaky, wooden floors, large rooms, and picturesque windows.

Growing up with antiques, decorating, and refinishing furniture as part of my heritage, I have acquired a love for home décor and all things vintage. I have found that I don’t like everything to match… I find it more interesting to look at, and more challenging to put together, a room filled with a variety of furnishings, textures, and styles that make it feel inviting and comfortable. For most of my life I have been intrigued by the possibilities of taking one person’s “trash” and turning it into someone else’s “treasure.”
SO… I decided to take a leap of faith and combine my passion and my dream of owning my own business and turn it into reality.
